Bungendore-based artist Jeanette Smith was drawn into the world of creativity through folk art around 33 years ago. Over the years, she has explored other forms of art from oil landscapes to now watercolour paints, a unique medium with magical properties, displaying both softness and vibrancy.
Having a passion for gardening, it is only natural that Jeanette is now drawn towards painting flowers and the beauty they express. She has a particular interest in pursuing the use of a limited palette, using three transparent, staining permanent colours to produce clean and harmonious paintings in a macro style that captures realistic florals while still maintaining a sense of being abstract. Her hope is that the pieces instil a positive emotional response in the viewer, feeling some of the emotions she experiences while in her happy place creating art pieces.
