As part of Indigenous Business Month, join us for one or all of these practical sessions designed to support First Nations entrepreneurs and business owners at every stage of their business journey.

Session 1: Start or Grow Your Business | 10.00am – 12.00pm

Hear from APM about Self-Employment Assistance and how the program can support you to start or grow your own business. The session will cover developing your business idea, building your skills, creating a business plan and accessing ongoing support to help you work towards self-employment.

Session 2: Lunch and a Yarn | 12.00pm – 1.00pm

Join us for lunch and a yarn with Sarah Richards, founder of Marrawuy Journeys and winner of the 2026 QPRC First Nations Business Award. A Ngiyampaa woman, consultant and practicing artist, Sarah brings together more than a decade of experience across government and consulting with cultural grounding and creative wellbeing approaches. Hear about Sarah’s journey in business, the inspiration behind Marrawuy Journeys and her experience building a business that brings together leadership, culture and wellbeing.

Come along for the lunch and yarn on its own, or make it part of your day by joining us for one or both of the practical business sessions.

Session 3: Expanding Your Business | 1.00pm – 3.00pm

Hear from APM about Self-Employment Assistance and the support available to established business owners looking to grow and expand their business. The session will provide practical information and guidance to help you identify opportunities, build your business capability and take the next step in your business journey.

Whether you’re thinking about starting a business, looking to grow your business, or simply want to hear from other local First Nations business owners, these sessions will provide practical information, support and inspiration to help you take the next step.
