About

Queanbeyan was first settled in 1838, 75 years before Canberra, has a rich heritage celebrated in the beautifully preserved 1876 Police Residence. Now a Museum, it houses more than two centuries of the region’s history: Indigenous; settlement to town; bushrangers; a blacksmithy; a rare Both Iron Lung; our pubs; piano that was once owned by William and Nina Farrer of Lambrigg; a marvellous 30m by 10m historical mural; agricultural equipment; regular changing exhibitions and much, much more!
