Join visual artist Neil Sloan for a hands-on workshop where you’ll explore creative techniques to document your travels. Inspired by Neil’s own practice and the surrounds of Rusten House Arts Centre, participants will learn how to create their own site responsive artworks, and tools for creating a travel journal. Whether you’re an experienced artist or a curious beginner, this workshop offers a unique opportunity to reflect on place, memory and experience through art. All materials and afternoon tea provided.
Neil Sloan is a Queanbeyan based visual artist specialising in printmaking and mixed media. This workshop coincides with the final day of Neil’s solo exhibition Safari Art showing at Rusten House Arts Centre. The exhibition captures Neil’s artistic responses to travels throughout East Africa with vibrant works on paper translated through printmaking, collage, drawing and journaled musings.
