The Majors Creek Hotel Woodchop is in its second year, and this year will be better than the last. With over 30 of the best Axemen and Women from NSW and Victoria competing for prize money and State Title Points.
Woodchopping is a traditional Australian sport that has been a key part of rural and country festivals/shows for many years. It involves competitors using axes to chop through logs of wood as quickly and accurately as possible. The events can include a variety of categories, like underhand chop, standing block chop, and sawing.
Also, at this year’s event are Food vans, The Rural Fire Service, Facepainting, Braidwood Motor Club display, raffle and Ingrid Mae playing after 5pm.
