In using Queanbeyan-Palerang Regional Council Services you are authorising Council to collect information about you and about the transactions that you process through Queanbeyan-Palerang Regional Council’s Online Services.

We educate our employees about the importance of confidentiality and customer privacy. We also take appropriate disciplinary measures to enforce our confidentiality and privacy policies.

Examples of these security procedures include use of computer passwords, firewalls, network security, locked fireproof file cabinets, shredding of unnecessary documents, and more.

Social Media House Rules
The Visit Queanbeyan-Palerang social media pages are managed by the Economy, Events & Arts branch of Queanbeyan-Palerang Regional Council (QPRC). Our social media channels are used to promote the Queanbeyan-Palerang region and share its hidden gems with our local community and visitors.
The pages run under the principles of openness, relevance, accuracy and respect. This means that users of the platform can share and respectfully discuss matters that are relevant to the contents of our page; our page is kept up to date with information about things to see and do in the region; content will be accurate and inaccuracies will be corrected; we will operate with respect under the Council’s Code of Conduct.
The pages will be monitored during business hours, Monday-Friday 9.00am-4.00pm. Comments may be turned off from time to time when resources are not available to monitor and moderate comments.
All users of Meta have the right to remove unwanted content posted by others on their page, and we reserve the right to moderate comments and hide or remove any that are considered to be:
• Unrelated to the purpose of the page
• Defamatory, offensive, humiliating, threatening or intimidating to Council officials or members of the public
• Profane language or sexual in nature
• Harassment and/or bullying within the meaning of the Model Code of Conduct for Local Councils in NSW, or is unlawfully discriminatory

• Allegations of suspected breaches of the Council’s Code of Conduct or information about the consideration of a matter under the Procedures for the Administration of the Model Code of Conduct for Local Councils in NSW

• Advertising, endorsing or soliciting commercial products or business

• In breach of the rules of the social media platform
Users who breach these guidelines will have the post deleted and the user may be blocked. Please note that a snapshot of the post will be collected for records.
Social media is not the official channel to make complaints about Council or Council officials. Council’s Complaint Handling Policy should be referred to.
Users should not provide personal information on social media platforms. If personal information is sent to Council via private message, this will only be used for official purposes.
