Real and Imagined is an exhibition at the Queanbeyan Hive showcasing the work of artists Ingrid Ferguson and Lea Palij. Visitors are invited to experience landscapes and imagery that blend memory, imagination and natural form in unexpected ways.
Ingrid Ferguson’s paintings explore light, atmosphere and remembered moments of nature. Her semi-abstract works draw on both structured and impressionistic techniques, creating unique perspectives where reality meets imagination. Influenced by German expressionism, her art captures the emotional impact of the natural world through colour, texture and form.
Lea Palij presents her series Flora Nouveau, which celebrates the aesthetic beauty of Australian native flora. Her oil paintings weave delicate botanical forms into the flowing rhythms of art nouveau. Each piece transforms fleeting natural details into lyrical, timeless compositions.
The Queanbeyan Hive provides an intimate and welcoming setting where art is experienced alongside live music and a bar on Friday nights, adding to the atmosphere of creativity and community. Please RSVP if you would like to join the official opening at 6pm on the 17th October.
Real and Imagined offers visitors the chance to encounter two distinct artistic visions united by a shared passion for nature, imagination and design.
