Blue Frog Truffles
Blue Frog Truffles has been harvesting black truffles (Tuber melanosporum) since 2007. The farm is located just north of Canberra, close to the Federal Highway, and was established in 2003 with the planting of just over 2 hectares of oaks and hazelnut trees, and later increased with additional oaks to approximately 4.5 hectares. The farm’s owners, Wayne, Lanie and son Justin Haslam, harvest twice a week and conduct truffle hunts for groups and the general public on Sunday mornings during the season, from late June until mid August.
L’Air du Wombat Truffles
L’Air du Wombat truffle farm was established in 2007 in the tiny town of Oallen on the banks of the Shoalhaven River. Their hunts begin at 10am every Saturday or 1pm on Sundays during winter, taking you through all there is to know about truffles, the farm and how they got started. The tours also include a variety of snacks containing truffle after the hunt.
Turalla Truffles
Turalla Truffles is located close to the town of Bungendore, just 30 minutes from Canberra near Lake George. Join Damian, his family and their pack of Jack Russell dogs for a Hunt then Lunch degustation adventure, where you’ll be guided through the process of finding truffles. After the hunt, you’ll get to enjoy Damian and Lindsay’s favourite truffle dishes, including plenty of truffle cooked in a variety of exciting ways.
